Hi friends,
Happy Friday 👋🏾
Welcome to Issue 18 of Classroom-2-Boardroom. This is a 1-min read, no more no less.
Slow down to speed up
This week’s Issue is coming later than usual. 🙂
It’s been a looong one but most importantly, it’s been an acknowledgment that at times, the only way to move fast is to slow down. 👌🏾
When you combine slow + fast, you get the “flow”.
But what does it mean to slow down, in a world filled with ultra-fast news, insights, updates, and decision-making?💁🏾♀️
What does it mean to slow down when everybody seems to be going at a Mach 2.0? 🤷🏾♀️
What does it mean to slow down when you’re on the other side of the wind and you’re getting tossed with tons of information every minute? 🙅🏾♀️
Well, here’s the catch. 🎯
Think of slowing down like sharpening a knife. The slower you move, the more precise and intentional you become.
It sounds crazy, right? Slow down to move faster?
Enter “flow”🎯
flow = fast + slow.
It's not a full stop. It’s the semi-colon; and sometimes the “comma” before you pick up again. 🤌🏾
It's about catching your breath before the sprint, about reflecting on your reflections.
Think about it. Athletes don't sprint the entire marathon. They strategically slow down at times, conserve energy, and then surge forward. 🕺🏾
There’s a reason cars slow down just before they accelerate. 🤔
So, this week, as we move towards the end of the year, I encourage you to embrace the peace of slowing down. 😃
Challenge yourself to slow down in one small way. 🤷🏾♀️
Take a longer lunch break, walk instead of run, or disconnect from the online chatter for an hour. 🤷🏾♀️
You might be surprised by what you rediscover.
Not to stop, but to move with intention, awareness, and maybe even a sprinkle of mindfulness. 💯✨
Until next time,
Don’t Forget to be Awesome,
Dulra ❤️
